Our Mission

At Integrated Water Sciences, Inc., we are dedicated to the strategic management and innovative engineering of water resources. Our mission is to bridge the gap between complex technical challenges and sustainable solutions, ensuring that every project we undertake contributes to the long-term resilience and health of our global water ecosystems.

With a foundation built on decades of expertise and a commitment to cutting-edge technology, we provide the engineering consulting services that empower communities and industries to thrive in an era of increasing water scarcity. We don't just solve problems; we engineer a future where water is managed with precision and care.

The Strategic Engineering Team

Meet the founder of IWS

Mr. Flint is a Florida registered professional engineer and estuarine scientist. Mark received his BS in Marine Ecology (Specialization) from Old Dominion University in 1980 where he began his career with the Hampton Roads Sanitation Distict, working in industrial wastewater and the analytical wastewater laboratory. He later obtained a MS in Environmental Engineering Science from UCF in 1984.  Over the next 10 years of his career, Mark continued his post-graduate training in biological nutrient removal (Clemson University Abbreviated Training), and USF Coastal Systems modeling.  He has been credited in many "first of their kind" projects in wastewater to wetlands treatment, advanced onsite sewage treatment, and media based nutrient removal systems.

Over his engineering career, Mark developed long-term working relationships with industry leaders and university researchers at UCF, USF, and CSU on various coastal and riverine hydrologic systems. He is recognized statewide in Florida for his development of media-based nutrient removal systems, pioneering the up-flow filtration system and inter-event treatment. Over his 42 year career, Mark has engineered over 300 projects in water supply and treatment, wastewater treatment, industrial treatment, and stormwater treatment in more than 30 jurisdictions. He is a passionate technical leader that strategically develops specialized project teams that can handle complex hydrological, biological and chemical water treatment systems.

As a leader, Mark served as an office manager, staff mentor, and VP of a national firm that led him to establish a small engineering firm that successfully met Florida's water challenges for an 18- year period before founding IWS.
